Video marketing is by far the greatest form of advertising for all ages. It can provide powerful, meaningful and informative information for companies. Below i will discuss 3 Great Videos that companies use to advertise their products.
1. Pat the Baker old TV Advert
Firstly, this is a great old video from pat the baker company to advertise their bread. They have many competition out there that are rivals with them but in my opinion i think this company is by far the most popular and this is one of the adverts that got them most well-known. Their competitiors in Ireland such as Harrington’s are also very popular and this is why they need to have great advertising to compete with these other well-known brands.

2. Specsavers Sheepdog Advert.
Secondly, Specsavers Ireland are another company which are great for using video advertising to advertise their products nationally. Their great use of humor and entertainment for their videos gets them greatly known and talked about. This in turn increases their sales and brand name.
In the videos below is an example of their sheepdog advert. In my opinion i think that this is a great video and it portrays a man shaving his dog instead of sheep which gets across the message that glasses are needed and important. They get this message across greatly though video marketing.
3. Lynx Body Spray
Another company which advertise well through video marketing is Lynx body spray. This company use many techniques to promote their products again with humor and enticing videos.
Lynx would be one of the best known body sprays in Ireland, especially for men. They use a source of advertising that appeals to both men and woman. In their most recent advert below it portrays all different types of people across the world doing their own thing and living all their different lives. It shows that whoever you are and whatever you like that Lynx can be used by anyone no matter who you are. It advertises their new grooming products which can be used for any occasion.
When Twitter was first created, it was used mostly by individuals to share personal thoughts and views that they had. As the social media website grew it became more popular for companys to use it to interact with their customers as a customer service platform.
The most successful brands on twitter are those that tweet out quality content and i’ve named and explained three of them below.
1. Domino’s Pizza
Domino’s Pizza is definetly everyone’s ultimate favorite pizza brand. They use humor, creative posts, clear visual images and causal language to engage the consumer into reading their post and following their page. For example:
As you can see above, Domino’s Pizza used humor and poetry along with visual images to entice the customer to order pizzas.
Dominos also do a competition on Twitter for people to win FREE pizza for an entire year. This promotes the pizza and also gets people talking about the brand. See below for example:
The marketers behind Charmins social media account is by far a master of social engagement. Their tweets all involve lighthearted, fun and toilet humor-centric brand voice. They are certainly the ‘sassiest brand on twiter’ – TIME magazine 2014
In addition to tweeting out fun and hilarious content, they constantly tweet to followers to answer questions and polls, they respond to customers who tweet them and jump in on trending hashtags. Below shows how they use toilet humor while asking a poll to customers and getting engaged with them.
They have also created their own fun hashtags which have got everyone on Twitter talking. Hashtags such as ‘#tweetfromtheseat’ and ‘#CharminAsks’. Below is an hilarious example which trended on twitter:
Ill admit i’m not a coffee drinker, i’m more of a tea lover, but Starbucks crushes it on Twitter! Not only because they have over 11 million followers but because the ‘get’ and understand how social media works.
They always do great by interacting with their followers by retweeting them and answering back to their tweets which shows they definetly know the importance with engaging with their followers.
They also effectively use media. Notice how they use photos, videos, gifs and all other forms of media. They are doing it often and doing it right. See below how they use a mix of humor, song and media to promote their product.
Make sure your profile picture represents your brand.
Some facebook pages are unrecogniseable from their profile photos. This profile picture is for a beauty salon called Nailure based in Cork. One couldn’t identify the company from looking at the profile picture.
Make sure your profile picture has the correct size applied to it.
The profile picture is really easy to understand and it will draw more people to the page as it is more easily recogniseable.
2. Choose an engaging yet clear cover photo.
When facebook users end up landing on your page, you want them to have a clear yet suttle idea who you are in approximetly 3 seconds. That is why your cover photo is important.
Make sure that your cover photo is high quality like Coca Colas Facebook page cover photo.
3. Complete your about section.
A misconfigured or an incomplete about section could result in missed traffic and likes on your page. When filling in your about section, you should certainly fill in all the fields that you can. You get 155 characters to tell people who you are, or what your company is about, but i would not recommend to use the whole limit, as you want to keep it as clear and percise as possible.
For example, this is Dennehys Gym in Douglas Cork. As you can see their about section is clear and to the point and it is appealing to the eye.
4. Work from a posting strategy.
A well planned posting strategy is one of the most important elements of a successful and great Facebook page. You could have the greatest profile picture, cover photo or about section, but if your page lacks a posting strategy, then the game is over!
I would reccomment that Facebook pages publish three types of post everyday on their pages:
- Text Updates
For example, Amicus restaurant in Cork City, post very appeling posts which attracts the consumer.
5. Answer your audiences questions.
As everyone knows, interaction on social media is key. You page would get alot more followers if people know that they can get their questions answers in a matter of minutes. One of the top 5 reasons why people follow brands on social media is for customer service, which means providing a social media customer service is essiential.
As you can see below, the travel company jet blue are great for innteracting and answering their audiences questions.
Hi, I’m a full-time Business Studies in Marketing student in Cork Institute Technology. I’m from Douglas in Cork City. I am 20 years old. My favorite singer is Beyonce. I went to her concert this year in Dublin. I also went to festivals such as Electric Picnic and Longitude. Unforgettable experiences!
I also go on holidays to Alicante in Spain once or twice a year as I have a holiday home over there and I enjoy going there very much.
